Blue Streak: This is the ELDO launcher, put together from contributions from different European countries. Britain built the bottom, called Blue Streak.

These rockets use a real miniature rocket engine to blast off. They have about the same power as a firework, but the rockets are re-usable!

Activity Information

Pupils have significant design input in to these balsa wood and plastic rockets. Consisting of an engine, nose-cone, fins and a parachute the altitude is limited only by the size of the school and the pupils' imagination.

Times and Requirements

This activity requires a large field to launch from. It takes 2h30m to build & 30m to launch.
