Blue Streak: This is the ELDO launcher, put together from contributions from different European countries. Britain built the bottom, called Blue Streak.

This is the Lunar Lander. It can carry two people. In total 12 Americans landed on the moon using the Lunar Lander, which is a part of the Apollo/Saturn V.

Shockingly most kids nowadays believe the moon landings were faked! With media speculation and conspiracy theories man’s greatest achievement has been reduced to a footnote in history. This talk takes the listener on a journey, from the dark beginnings of rocketry with the V-2 to Neil Armstrong’s famous small step on the Sea of Tranquility. We then look at the future of manned lunar and Martian exploration.

Notes

This presentation is suitable for Secondary School students. It includes slightly complex moral issues that younger children may not fully understand. Suitable for a small or large audience.
